Cell C Service

User Rating: 0.2 (1 votes)

I am completely shocked at Cell C. I can not believe what I saw when I accessed my on-line account from their website recently. It started almost a week ago when I could not access my on-line account with my password I have always used since creating the on-line account.

As I could not access my account I requested a password reset via the email option, I then saw password successfully sent, but it was not my email registered to this contract number and account. I immediately realised something fishy was going on.

To my amazement when I logged in this is the details that was displaying:

Cell C Proof Of Negligence

As you can clearly see the person’s name is not Dewaldt Huysamen, nor is the physical residential address mine? How can this happen? So then I called John Maistry asking him if he knows anything about this whole Cell C predicament. How can anyone be so clueless or negligent in letting this happen?

I then went on to Facebook and head over to the Cell C Facebook page. I then pasted the link of the screenshot and well the picture below explains the rest:

Cell C Facebook Post

Yes so I asked them to fix the problem for me, why not I mean my wife’s private details are being mixed up with some one else, this was pure negligence. Their call centre did not handle my problem either. Hellopeter did not have much success either. Here is my complaint in Hellopeter about Cell C.

What is Cell C Going To Do To Fix This?

Well they say I have to fix it myself? They do not respond and best of all I tried to take out a new contract and was declined. I do not understand this at all.

From worse service, negligent actions to what now?

I have been struggling wit Cell C for a year to just change my address, everytime one of them ‘verifies’ my details I tell them the address is wrong and today I herd it is still not fixed. They ‘lost’ my phone insurance clam and then told me they will not settle my claim becasue I didn’t claim in the prescribed tme. They are dishonest and incompetent.

I can only sympathise with you. please share this article with as many friend as you like. Maybe the more people make their voices heard on here the more Cell C will come to the party and correct what they have done wrong.

Virgin mobile is also terrible – I get messages after someone called me but it did not ring constantly. If not that then I get messages 2 or 3 days later after they were sent.
I have tried network auto and then the recommendation by Virgin that I select Cell C network, nothing improves. Apparently Virgin uses Cell C
I’ve got R1600 credit but I cannot transfer it to anyone, if I start a new contract they will not credit the R1600. It sucks

Are you on drugs yourself Dewaldt? I don’t like Cell C myself, and had some bad experiences with them myself before I switched to Vodacom, but I will never have the audacity, the bad manners, to insist on getting a ‘free’ contract or mobile phone! Anyone can make a mistake, and this is most likely what happened there. It’s no secret their customer service is just as cheap as the packages they offer. Sure, Jacob Zuma make me live in fear in my country, do you think I can demand that he give me my own country?! I am pretty sure you won’t have the guts to leave my comment on here! it is customers like you that give companies the attitude they have towards certain customers, no wonder Cell C ignored you. And I guess a lot of other people shake their heads at people like you too.

      Hi Marius B.

Thanks for your comment, I do not care if people comment positive or bad here I know what I wrote was the truth and people can think what ever they want. The idea was to prove I can rank for a difficult keyword like CELL C and I told them I would.

I also serve clients and I can promise you if I would make a mistake or be this negligent, then I would do or give whatever to make up my wrong.

      :-)

At least you don’t get a R2500.00 internet bill, where I actually need to buy more data if I want more????

That does not sound lekker at all, pity you also had a bad experience with CELL C.

Ahhh so i am not alone – Cell C sure does offer the worst possible service ever. I got a message saying i was due for an upgade and thought great as i had just lost my phone. We enquired about the IPhone but they ommitted to tell me that after using 350mb of data i would have to pay 99c per mb – not cheap – so i decided to stick with the blackberry which would suite my purposes and budget. it was close to closing time at the LaLucia branch so they rushed me and made us sign the new contract and told me to come back tomorrow after they had processed it. I asked what time and we agreed 9am the next morning. They also confirmed they had stock of the curve 9380.
Next morning, an hour wait and no stock – so i have to go to Gateway – find/pay for parking and wait another hour in that shop. Once i opened the box i found the escape key was not working. After calling the same lady at La Lucia not even half an hour of receiving the phone she told me to bring it back to the La Lucia store and she would send it to JHB and I would hear from them in 7 days.
So back to the store (now more than half my day has been wasted) – i am told the escape key is not so bad – i would get used to it – my fiance was with me and has a brand new curve 9380 – so we showed the manager the difference.
She fills out more forms and checks the contents of the box and tells me to sign the form – where she has written scratches on the back – which are only apparent to her. She took the cover off herself and has lovely long elgant nails which would seem scratchy to me.
So to cut a long story short we cancelled the upgrade and wanted to cancell the original contract which has three months left – but were told that it can only be cancelled 30 days before it expires.
No apology – just plain arrogance and she convenietly forgot to give us the R115 paid in cash to her that same morning for the upgrade. So yet another trip back to the store to insist on the refund – this time she had no paperwork to fill out – just gave the money back. I was told its policy – i am sick of policy as an excuse – anyway my policy is not to deal with Cell C so there policy is null and void as far as i concerned.
I will be sending an invoice for half a day, petrol and parking to Cell C LaLucia
